The manly man burger (not for wimps), great for NFL tailgating.
Ingredients
- 5 freshs jalapeno peppers
- 4 pounds ground beef
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg
- 0.25 cups steak sauce , e.g. Heinz 57
- 0.25 cups minced white onion
- 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce , e.g. Tabasco™
- 1 pinch dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 0.25 cups crushed Fritos® corn chips
- 8 large potato hamburger buns
- 8 slices pepperjack cheese
Instructions
-
1
Preheat a grill for high heat. When the grill is hot, roast the jalapeno peppers until blackened on all sides. Place in a plastic bag to sweat and loosen the blackened skin. Rub the skin off, then seed if desired, and chop.
-
2
In a large bowl, use your hands to mix together the chopped jalapenos, ground beef, salt, pepper, egg, steak sauce, onion, hot pepper sauce, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and Fritos®. Divide into 8 balls, and flatten into patties.
-
3
Grill patties for 10 to 15 minutes, turning once, or until well done. I always drink one beer, then flip, drink another beer, then remove from the grill and place on buns. Top each one with a slice of pepperjack cheese and pig out!

Sweet and Sour Cabbage Soup
This hearty sweet and sour cabbage soup is my version of an old favorite Ashkenazi Jewish recipe. I make a stock first, then make the soup. This allows for de-fatting the soup, but you need to make this on two days, so time accordingly. Using savoy cabbage gives the soup superlative texture and flavor.
Turkish Doner Kebab
This doner kebab is so tasty — I'm sure once you try it, you'll want to make it again and again! Serve with lightly toasted pita or flatbread, chili sauce, and a salad of shredded cabbage, carrot, onion, and sliced cucumber. It's easy to make in advance, slice and freeze for whenever you get that craving!
California Italian Wedding Soup
This is my variation of a standard Italian wedding soup recipe. I like fresh basil and a little lemon rind, so those are basically my only changes. This is a quick and easy soup with flavors that impress all.
