These Cajun cashews may become your family's favorite snack—spicy, savory, and crunchy roasted cashews can be addictive. To increase the spiciness, add more cayenne.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- teaspoon chile garlic sauce , such as Sriracha®
- 0.75 teaspoons cumin
- 0.5 teaspoons paprika
- 0.5 teaspoons garlic powder
- 0.25 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- 2 cups cashews
- 1 tablespoon salt
Instructions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and set aside.
-
2
Melt butter and oil in a medium-size saucepan over low heat. Stir in Worcestershire, Sriracha, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne, and simmer for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add cashews and toss until well coated with seasonings.
-
3
Pour nuts onto the prepared baking sheet, and spread out into a single layer. Set the saucepan aside.
-
4
Bake in the preheated oven, shaking pan occasionally, until golden brown, 18 to 20 minutes. Keep an eye on them when baking to make sure they don't burn.
-
5
Pour hot cashews back into the saucepan, sprinkle with coarse salt, and toss until well coated. Transfer the nuts back to the baking sheet to cool. Store in an air-tight container.
