A slightly sweet and sassy apple butter kids are sure to love! Cinnamon oil and red food coloring may be used in place of the candies. If using the cinnamon oil and omitting brown sugar this becomes a healthier tasty treat your kids won't know is good for them! My kids love this on buttered bread, warm atop french toast, or on ice cream.
Ingredients
- 4 Honeycrisps apples - peeled , cored, and chopped
- 1 lemon , juiced
- 0.25 cups cinnamon red hot candies
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar , or to taste
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 0.13 teaspoons ground cloves
- 2 cups unsweetened apple juice , or as needed
Instructions
-

Toss apples and lemon juice together in a bowl.
-

Put about half the apples in a slow cooker with cinnamon candies, brown sugar, ginger, and cloves; stir. Pour enough apple juice over the mixture to nearly, but not quite, cover the apples.
-
3
Cook on Low, stirring occasionally, until the candies dissolve, about 1 hour.
-
4
Increase heat to High and continue cooking until the apples have begun to lose shape, about 4 hours. Add remaining apples to the slow cooker. Reduce heat to Low and continue cooking until desired thickness is reached, at least 3 hours.

Naan Bread Margherita Pizza with Prosciutto
This naan bread pizza recipe is one of my favorite Friday night dishes. This pizza is quick, simple, and delicious. Instead of making the pizza dough from scratch, I decided to use naan bread for the pizza base. Using naan bread saves time and is also great for portion control. The only difference between this recipe and most pizza recipes is that it doesn't include tomato sauce on the base. I don't like the sogginess that comes from the sauce but feel free to try it with the sauce, as it will still yield good results.
Instant Pot Wild Rice with Mushrooms
Making wild rice with mushrooms in an Instant Pot enriches and intensifies the flavor of the stock and herbs. Wild rice is firm on the outside and soft in the middle, and its texture blends nicely with softer brown rice. This recipe yields a tasty side dish for chicken, turkey, pork, and fish.
