Ingredients
- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- 0.25 cups honey
- 3 large tomatoes , cut into 1/2-inch slices
- 1 package fresh mozzarella cheese , 16 ounce
- 0.25 teaspoons salt
- 0.25 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 0.5 cups fresh basil leaves
- 0.25 cups extra-virgin olive oil

Gather all ingredients. Stir balsamic vinegar and honey together in a small saucepan and place over high heat.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer until mixture has reduced to 1/3 cup, about 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Arrange alternating slices of tomato and mozzarella decoratively on a serving platter.

Sprinkle with salt and black pepper, tuck basil leaves around slices, and drizzle with olive oil and the balsamic reduction.

Italian Christmas Bread with Eggnog Glaze
My husband fondly recalls the Anise Bread that his Italian grandmother used to make during the holidays. She evidently never had a recipe (and never used a bread machine!) so this is what I came up with for a quick, special Christmas bread. This rich bread has a wonderful aroma while baking.
