Monkey bread gets an upgrade when paired with warm, cinnamon-sugar coated apples.
Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 0.5 cups white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 large apple - peeled , cored, and chopped into 20 chunks
- 1 loaf frozen bread dough , 1 pound
- 0.5 sticks butter , melted
- 0.5 cups brown sugar
Instructions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray a fluted tube pan (such as Bundt®) with cooking spray.
-
2
Mix white sugar and cinnamon together in a medium bowl. Add apple chunks and stir to coat thoroughly. Set aside.
-
3
Divide dough into 20 pieces. Wrap 1 piece of dough around a coated apple chunk and pinch to seal shut. Dip in melted butter, then roll in brown sugar. Arrange balls of dough in even circles in the prepared pan.
-
4
Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.
-
5
Carefully invert pan onto a large plate so caramel mixture runs over each piece. Cool briefly before serving.

Yummy Pork Noodle Casserole
This pork and noodle casserole is my mom's recipe. The added sour cream gives a little twist to the standard version. The added red pepper and corn give it color and flavor. You can add and remove any vegetables in this versatile recipe. This is one of my favorite recipes.
Alyson's Broccoli Salad
Confirmed broccoli haters have changed their minds after tasting this salad. It is great for potlucks or buffet meals. Make a day or so before you wish to serve to meld the ingredients. I have used sugar substitutes for the white sugar and also used nonfat or low-fat mayonnaise and it still tastes great!
Cheesy Baked Grits
I had these cheesy baked grits at a party at a colleague's house. I've loved cheese grits for years, but these are by far the best I've ever had.
