A chamoyada, also called mangonada, is a refreshing summer Mexican drink made with fresh mango and chamoy sauce. I like to add pineapple juice for a tropical twist. Garnish with a tamarind straw that you can get in Mexican stores and diced mango if desired.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh or frozen mango cubes
- 1 can pineapple juice , 6 ounce
- 0.5 lime
- 2 teaspoons chili-lime seasoning , such as Tajin®
- 2 tablespoons chamoy , Mexican chili fruit condiment
Instructions
-
1
Combine mango and pineapple juice in a blender; blend until smooth. Set aside.
-
2
Rub lime wedge around the rim of a glass, then dip in 1 teaspoon chili-lime seasoning. Juice lime into the glass; add 1 tablespoon chamoy and remaining 1 teaspoon chili-lime seasoning. Pour 1/2 of the mango-pineapple mixture into the prepared glass. Add remaining 1 tablespoon chamoy sauce and top with remaining mango-pineapple mixture.

Coconut and Lemon Cream Pie
Coconut and lemon are probably my favorite match. This pie has an unexpected shortbread-like crust made with only coconut oil! The result is flaky, crumbly, and delicious. The creamy curd center gets an upgrade using coconut cream! If you serve immediately, the pie will be a bit messier than if you were to chill it for a few hours.
Easy Mango Salad
The salad ingredients came from a cooking class I went to, but the dressing came from a friend. Make sure you use firm mangos or they will be impossible to julienne.
Dolmas (Stuffed Grape Leaves)
These dolmas are made with what may seem like a strange combination of spices, but this is a wonderful, delicate traditional Turkish dish with a twist. They are traditionally served chilled, but you can serve them warm if desired. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over them before serving.
