Simple homemade Cheddar popcorn can be made with just 3 ingredients. Unlike popcorn from a bag or tin, this is hot and fresh. I've been making this since I was a kid. It got me in trouble though, because I used to snag the packet from the boxed mac and cheese in the pantry. Thankfully, they sell the Cheddar powder on its own now.
Ingredients
- 0.25 cups vegetable oil
- 0.75 cups popcorn
- 2 tablespoons heddar cheese powder
Instructions
-
1
Place oil in a large stock pot over medium-high heat. Place 3 popcorn kernels in the pot. Cover.
-
2
Wait for all 3 kernels to pop. Add remaining popcorn kernels. Cover the pot with a lid and cook until two seconds go by and kernels are no longer popping, about 3 minutes.
-
3
Transfer popped corn to a large bowl. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon Cheddar cheese powder over popcorn; toss. Sprinkle remaining 1 tablespoon cheese powder over popcorn; toss again. Serve immediately.

Homemade Cavatelli Pasta
Cavatelli noodles are a typical Southern Italian pasta made out of just durum wheat semolina flour, water, and salt. The starch contained in the durum gives this pasta its distinctive and firm texture, perfect to go with a simple tomato sauce or with a rich Bolognese. Make sure to use very fine semolina (called durum or semola rimacinata) or the dough will be too stiff.
Simple Chocolate Chip Cheesecake
This is a family holiday favorite I created from a variation of the recipe on the cream cheese label. Super simple and super yummy!
Passover Mandelbread
Delicious mandelbread/biscotti that come out crispy and sweet every time. Great for Passover, but do not taste like a Passover recipe.
