A Scotsman's Shepherd Pie
Yes, shepherd's pie is predominantly thought of as Irish or British. But since I'm Scottish, I thought I'd give it a unique twist to suit my ancestral tastes. The use of lamb, the smoky, heather taste of Guinness® Draught (Irish, I admit), and the topping of sharp Cheddar and smoked paprika give this version its unique, smoky-sweet flavor.
Microwave Shrimp Étouffée
This is a very easy shrimp étouffée recipe that utilizes your microwave! I usually add four dashes of hot pepper sauce to the dish, but bring the hot stuff to the table in case someone wants a zestier dinner! This recipe is one I learned while going to school in southern Louisiana - Geaux Tigers!
Mussels and Pasta with Creamy Wine Sauce
I always have a bag of mussel meat in the freezer for affordable, delicious, easy weeknight meals like this; no defrosting needed! You'll find frozen mussels next to the fish in most local markets.
