This is a family recipe passed along by my late cousin David. It is so simple...just four ingredients thrown in the slow cooker! Not only is it great to come home to a hot delicious meal...your home will smell wonderful too! The brisket is great with the extra gravy spooned over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
- 1 beef brisket , 3 pound
- 2 bottles chili sauce , 12 ounce
- 1 envelope dry onion soup mix , 1 ounce
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
Instructions
-
1
Place beef brisket in a slow cooker. Whisk chili sauce, onion soup mix, and garlic powder together in a medium bowl; pour over brisket. Cover slow cooker.
-
2
Cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours. Slice brisket against the grain; pour gravy over slices.

Bacon-Wrapped Grilled Elk Backstrap
Here's a delicious way to prepare elk: seasoned pieces of backstrap are wrapped in bacon, and grilled. This tasty meal is ready in under half an hour! I like to sprinkle the skewers with more Worcestershire sauce halfway through cooking.

Nothin' Sweet About These Spicy Refrigerator Pickles
There is nothin' sweet about these spicy refrigerator pickles; they are genuinely piquant pickles that will satisfy those of us who have a loose sweet tooth. I have been looking for a truly flavorful pickle recipe, not sweet, but not just spicy. The key is the variety of ingredients, not just cutting down on the sugar. Only 24 hours in the refrigerator, and they're ready for snacking. Pucker up!
