This double chocolate chip cookie recipe is an altered version of a recipe from an old cookbook that took 10 years for me to perfect! I have been told to sell these cookies, they are very, very, very, very good!
Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine , softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.33 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
-
1
Gather all ingredients. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
-
2
In a medium bowl, cream together the margarine, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
-
3
Sift in the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder; mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips
-
4
Roll tablespoonfuls of cookie dough into balls and place them 1 inch apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
-
5
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Pistachio Ice Cream Dessert
This pistachio ice cream dessert is a refreshing, light dessert; a nice treat for St. Patrick's Day or any special occasion. My husband and son will eat a whole 9x13-inch dish in less than a week!
Apricot Lentil Soup
This apricot lentil soup has a sweet and tangy twist. It's great with a warm piece of black bread slathered with creamy butter.
Beef and Barley Soup III
This is what I consider the ultimate beef soup. Great on a frosty day. For beef stock, I use 2 1/2 quarts water and 6 teaspoons beef base. Also, use inexpensive red wine. No need for the good stuff here, and cheaper actually works better! Try with leftover pot roast.
