A really easy and very tasty crab cake recipe I put together with my 5-year-old son.
Ingredients
- 0.5 packets saltine crackers , 4 ounce
- 1 medium bell pepper , minced
- 2 stalks green onions , white parts only, minced
- 1 large egg , lightly beaten
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise , or more to taste
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard , or more to taste
- 2 pounds cooked blue crabmeat , drained
- 2 tablespoons seafood seasoning , such as Old Bay®
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs , or more as needed
- 2 tablespoons canola oil , or more as needed
Instructions
-
1
Mix crushed crackers, bell pepper, green onions, egg, mayonnaise, and Dijon together in a large bowl. Gently fold in crabmeat, seafood seasoning, and black pepper using a wooden spoon or spatula. Form crabmeat mixture into 1/2-inch-thick patties, 2 to 3 inches in diameter.
-
2
Put bread crumbs on a plate. Coat patties with bread crumbs.
-
3
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add patties in batches and cook until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes on each side. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels. Repeat with remaining patties, adding more oil as needed.

Stabilized Whipped Cream
Stabilized whipped cream holds up longer on desserts because it doesn't separate. Gelatin stiffens the whipped cream and makes the texture seem fuller and slightly spongy. It's perfect for topping a sweet pie with rosettes or to frost a cake.
Italian Wedding Cookies
These Italian wedding cookies are sometimes called Mexican wedding cookies or butterballs and can be shaped into crescents. They're also delicious made with pecans or hazelnuts instead of almonds. Great for gifting! This recipe was given to me by a friend who grew up in central Europe; they are the best wedding cookies I've ever had.
Slow Cooker Irish Beef Stew
This Irish beef stew is made in the slow cooker for pure comfort food on a chilly day. A little prep time is needed upfront. Don't be fooled by how much onion and garlic are used. It's honestly not too much. Cheers!
