This is my family's cherished banana bread recipe, lovingly handed down from my dad. It's a timeless classic, moist and flavorful, with just the right balance of sweetness from bananas and crunch from walnuts.
Ingredients
- 1 package cream cheese , 8 ounce
- 1 cup white sugar
- 0.5 cups unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs , well-beaten
- 2 ripes bananas , mashed
- 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Beat together cream cheese, sugar, butter, eggs, and bananas in a large bowl until very smooth. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and walnuts until just combined. Pour the batter into prepared loaf pan.

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.
