This ham, bean, and cabbage soup is one of my family's favorite soups. It's great on chilly days. For bean lovers, add a second can of white beans.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion , diced
- 1.5 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 quart chicken broth
- 1 can white beans , 15.5 ounce
- 1 can petite diced tomatoes , 14.5 ounce
- 0.5 heads cabbage , shredded
- 0.75 pounds ham , diced
- 2 stalks celery , chopped
Instructions
-
1
Heat olive oil in a soup pot over medium-high heat. Cook and stir onion in hot oil until tender, about 5 minutes. Season with Italian seasoning; cook and stir for 1 more minute.
-
2
Stir in chicken broth, white beans, tomatoes, cabbage, ham, and celery; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until celery and cabbage are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.

This fragrant olive oil cake is made from scratch with a mild olive oil instead of butter, and trust me, it works really, really well! It's flavored with honey and orange zest. This cake recipe requires very little effort and almost no technique. Serve with fresh berries or a fresh berry sauce.
