I modified this recipe from a very old cookbook (dated 1890).
Ingredients
- 1 fully cooked sliced ham , 5 pound
- 0.25 cups whole cloves
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 0.5 cups honey
- 2 oranges , juiced
Instructions
-
1
Gather all ingredients. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
-
2
Place the ham in a roasting pan and dot with cloves.
-
3
In a saucepan combine the pineapple juice, brown sugar, honey and orange juice. Stir and simmer over medium-low heat until thickened, about 10 minutes.
-
4
Pour the glaze over the ham.
-
5
Bake the ham uncovered for 1 hour in the preheated oven.

Salmon and Spinach Fettuccine
Inspired by my favorite local Italian restaurant's secret recipe. After some trial and error, I think I have it. Creamy Alfredo sauce and salmon complement each other well. Spinach adds great color.
Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Sautéed chicken and garlic impart a richness to this homemade chicken soup recipe. Feel free to add other vegetables and herbs to suit your taste! I like to serve this with a green salad and warm rolls.
Rhubarb Torte
This rhubarb torte recipe makes an excellent dessert after a hearty meal. I have also made the filling with raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries, separately or mixed for a bumbleberry torte!
