I've tried a couple of recipes for butter beer with alcohol that I found online, and they all were either so sweet or had oily butter in them that made me sick. I opted for a simplified version that tasted less sickly and was strong enough for someone larger than a house elf. Great for Harry Potter-themed parties or Halloween. Serve super chilled in a frosted mug — it can magically warm up even the coldest wizards.
Ingredients
- 1 fluid ounce spiced rum , such as Sailor Jerry
- 1 fluid ounce butterscotch schnapps
- 1 can or bottle cream soda , 12 fluid ounce
- 0.5 teaspoons imitation butter flavoring
- 1 small scoop vanilla ice cream , Optional
Instructions
-
1
Stir rum and schnapps together in a frosted 14-ounce mug until well combined.
-
2
Open cream soda can, pour in butter flavoring, and quickly pour soda into the chilled mug. Gently drop ice cream into soda mixture.

Instant Chocolate Hard Shell
A delicious chocolate candy shell topping for ice cream made in less than 5 minutes using just two ingredients. After trying recipe after recipe that turned out either rock hard or thick and gummy, I read the ingredient list on a bottle of the store-bought stuff and came up with this! Drizzle on top of your favorite ice cream.
Hawaiian Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
This pineapple upside-down cake recipe features coconut, banana and macadamia nuts for a taste of the tropics. On my way to a Hawaiian-themed party, all I could think of was pineapple upside-down cake. The recipes did not seem Hawaiian enough. I can't tell you how many people raved at the party. The whole cake is gone.
Swedish Chocolate Balls (or Coconut Balls)
Swedish chocolate balls (or coconut balls) is a definitive Swedish recipe, beloved by every Swede. It is one of the first things children learn to make, and it's enjoyed greatly by all ages. The balls can either be bite-sized or giant, whichever seems more appealing. Or make one big ball, and lots of small ones!
