This crowd-pleasing molasses banana bread has wonderful flavor. It's sweetened with molasses instead of sugar. What a nice variation!
Ingredients
- 0.5 cups butter , softened
- 2 cups mashed banana
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 0.75 cups all-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoons baking soda
- 0.5 teaspoons salt
- 0.5 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 0.5 cups chopped walnuts , Optional

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Cream butter in a large bowl. Beat in banana, molasses, and egg. Mix in both flours, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg. Stir in walnuts until well blended. Pour batter into the prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean, 55 to 65 minutes.
