Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Arrange peaches over the bottom of 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle dry gelatin over peaches, then sprinkle dry cake mix over gelatin. Dot with butter pieces, then pour 1 cup reserved peach juice and water over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven until the top is browned, about 1 hour.
