Pizza Buns
The elementary school I attended back in the 1950s used to make these, and were a favorite of most everyone. My wife and I spent a lot of time trying to recreate these when we were first married. Our kids (now in their 30s) still request these when they come to visit. We use canned pizza sauce but spice it up. Leftovers are easily reheated in the toaster oven.
Salsa Verde Pork
Quick prep work leads to succulent, delicious, and exceptionally easy salsa verde pork for enchiladas, tamales, or burritos or even to eat all by itself! We use this pork in all sorts of things, but my husband's favorite way is simply right out of the pot. I can't trust him to do the shredding, because too much ends up in his mouth. This pork keeps well and gets even better after a day or two.
Congee
Congee, a Chinese rice porridge also known as jook, will make any cold winter's day warm and welcoming. This recipe was inspired by my grandmother's frequent preparation of this dish. You will enjoy congee's unique velvety and savory taste.
