Sliced yams are baked in a hot oven until tender and crispy for a yummy side dish to your meal. These roasted yams pair best with turkey, chicken, steak, or mild fish.
Ingredients
- 1 large yam , peeled and cut into 1/4 inch thick slices
- kosher salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet or shallow baking dish with aluminum foil.
-
2
Arrange yam slices in the prepared pan so they are overlapping slightly. Season with salt and pepper and then drizzle olive oil over them as evenly as possible.
-
3
Bake in the preheated oven until tender and yam slices have begun to wrinkle around the edges, about 30 minutes.

Chef John's Braised Red Cabbage
Braised red cabbage is a very beautiful, super easy cabbage side dish. All ingredients in this recipe are totally to taste. It's a little bit sweet and a little bit tangy, with a tiny hint of caraway to interest you.
Crock Pot Party Meatballs
This is my most requested party recipe. People go crazy for these slow cooker party meatballs, and there is never a single one leftover at the end of a party or tailgate. The best part (aside from them being delicious) is that they are sooo easy to make!
Easy Spring Rolls (Air Fried)
This is a simple recipe for air fryer spring rolls. They're easy to cook with this method but you could cook them in the oven also. I like to serve them with sweet chile sauce.
