I made this quick and easy, flourless apple crisp to cut out some carbs. I've found that 2 Macintosh and 2 Granny Smith apples work best.
Ingredients
- 4 appless - peeled , cored, and sliced
- 2 cups oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.25 cups butter
- 0.5 cups honey
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Instructions
-
1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
-
2
Arrange apple slices in 9-inch circular glass pie plate.
-
3
Stir oats, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon together in a bowl.
-
4
Microwave butter in short 5-second increments until melted, about 20 seconds. Stir honey, melted butter, and oil into oat mixture; crumble over apples.
-
5
Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 35 minutes. Cool on a wire cooling rack, about 45 minutes.

Cream of Anything Soup Mix
My Grandma always kept this cream of anything soup mix in her pantry and, let's face it, every other recipe in the church cookbooks called for a can. As a kid I never understood why she wouldn't just buy a can. As an adult, I get it. Make your dollar stretch AND you control all that goes in it. Adjust to suit your taste but this is the basic recipe that works.
