An easy brisket recipe as the name suggests — and simply the best! This cut of beef is slow cooked in a delicious homemade sweet and spicy sauce until tender. I like to make this the day before for a great flavor. Simply reheat slowly to serve.
Ingredients
- 1 beef brisket , 3 pound
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 medium onion , thinly sliced
- 1 can beer , 12 fluid ounce
- 1 bottle tomato-based chili sauce , 12 ounce
- 0.75 cups packed brown sugar
Instructions
-
1
Gather all ingredients.
-
2
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
-
3
Season brisket on all sides with salt and pepper and place in a glass baking dish. Cover with a layer of sliced onion.
-
4
Mix beer, chili sauce, and brown sugar together in a medium bowl. Pour over beef brisket. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
-
5
Bake in the preheated oven for 3 hours. Remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
-
6
Let brisket rest and cool slightly before slicing and returning to the dish. Reheat in the oven with the sauce spooned over the sliced meat.

Mexican Enchilada Casserole
This casserole is especially good for those like myself that don't really care for canned enchilada sauce. It also freezes well and can be assembled, frozen, then baked later. Use 1/2 cup homemade taco seasoning if you have it; chili powder can be found online.
Heavenly Hot Dog Sauce
This is my family's favorite hot dog sauce recipe. It originates from West Virginia. We like it with a bite, but you can adjust it to your taste. We top our hot dogs with ketchup, mustard, this hot dog sauce, and finally some chopped onions — yum! This recipe makes a good amount, so you can freeze some and use it later.
Southwestern Egg Rolls
These Southwest egg rolls aren't your traditional egg rolls! Small flour tortillas stuffed with an exciting spicy chicken filling with corn, black beans, jalapeños, and cheese are deep-fried until crispy for a great appetizer.
