I have been making this cranberry Jell-O salad with sour cream for so long that it is permanently embedded in my memory. A great alternative to the typical cranberry salad served at Thanksgiving. Very easy and delicious, too.
Ingredients
- 1 can jellied cranberry sauce , 16 ounce
- 2 packages black cherry-flavored gelatin mix , 3 ounce
- 1.75 cups boiling water
- 1 carton sour cream , 16 ounce
Instructions
-
1
Mash jellied cranberry sauce in a 3-quart bowl. Stir in gelatin mix until thoroughly combined. Pour in boiling water; stir until gelatin has dissolved completely, about 3 minutes. Chill in the refrigerator until softly set, 2 to 3 hours.
-
2
Gently fold sour cream into chilled cranberry gelatin, leaving marbled streaks of sour cream and gelatin. Return to the refrigerator until firmly set, 4 hours to overnight. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.

Gelato made with cream, milk, egg yolks, and sugar. This basic recipe is from my Italian mother-in-law and is perfect to use as a base for your favorite flavors. Try adding vanilla, shaved chocolate, or your favorite fruits. They're all delicious!
Good Old-Fashioned Pancakes
I found this pancake recipe in my Grandma's recipe book. Judging from the weathered look of this recipe card, this was a family favorite.
Graham Crackers
A sweet whole wheat cracker just like the original graham cracker recipe. These are very versatile. They can be eaten plain or used in recipes as whole crackers or just crumbs.
