This Tom and Jerry mix is a wonderful hot Christmas beverage similar to a warm eggnog.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds confectioners' sugar
- 0.5 pounds unsalted b utter
- 6 eggs , separated
- 0.5 teaspoons salt
- 0.25 teaspoons ground mace
- 0.25 teaspoons ground allspice
- 0.25 teaspoons ground cloves
- 0.25 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 0.25 teaspoons ground cardamom
Instructions
-
1
Beat sugar and butter together in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
-
2
Beat egg whites in a separate large glass or metal mixing bowl until foamy; continue to beat until soft peaks form. (Lift your beater or whisk straight up: the egg whites will form soft mounds rather than a sharp peak.) Stir egg whites into egg yolk mixture. Stir in salt, mace, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, and cardamom.
-
3
To use the mixture, combine 1 cup hot milk and 1 ounce rum in a mug. Stir in 1 tablespoon Tom and Jerry mix.

Tourtière is a hearty and satisfying French Canadian meat pie that's easy to make, so it's a great choice for a holiday main course. Visually impressive, relatively affordable, and best served at room temperature, tourtière doesn't require any precise timing.
I Don't Know
I would always ask my mom 'What's for dinner?' and the response would be 'I don't know.' I said I was going to make up a dish called 'I don't know' dish. It turned out pretty good. Ground beef, potatoes and cheese are layered with a few vegetables in this simple one dish meal.
