Norwegian Cabbage Rolls
Velkommen! My take on traditional Norwegian kålruletter. My girlfriend likes the way I make them. I use a little less potato starch and throw some caraway seeds and rice in the filling, leaving a more meaty texture and a bit more flavor, in my opinion. Serve with brunsaus (brown gravy), rice, and boiled potatoes. Agurksalat (cucumber salad) is a great accompaniment to this dish.
Golabki (Stuffed Cabbage Rolls)
Golabki are cabbage leaves stuffed with ground beef and rice, then simmered in tomato soup. This works great in the oven or a slow cooker. Serve them with the pan juices and a drizzle of sour cream, or mix the pan juices with sour cream and ladle it over the cabbage rolls. They're also good with mashed potatoes and a cucumber and sour cream salad. They freeze well too — either before or after cooking.
Best Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
Tender leaves of cabbage are wrapped around a hearty sirloin and rice filling and topped with a homemade tomato sauce in this family-friendly recipe for stuffed cabbage leaves. The hint of allspice and slight tang from vinegar create a perfect balance in this dish. They remind me of eating at a Lebanese food festival, although not quite as spicy. Serve with Greek salad or tabouli salad and warm pita for the perfect bite!
Butternut Squash Soup with Apple
This wonderful butternut squash soup with apple and nutmeg has all the flavors of fall. Pair with crusty bread and a salad, and dinner is served! My friend Diana generously shared this wonderful recipe with me.
Runza Burritos International
A Burrito with a German Flavor...Full meal, snack, or brunch. Freezes easy so it makes a different Brown Bag Lunch base. It should look like a giant Cigar. Optional: Splash the open end of the Burrito with Sour Cream. Eat with gusto...goes great with Corona and a twist of Lime...and a Garden Salad.
Quick and Easy Pulled Pork Burritos
A tasty way to use up your leftovers from a pulled pork! Goes well with a little coleslaw.
Thai Chicken Slaw Burgers
One of my family's favorite meals! We vary the toppings by sometimes using cabbage slaw and other times broccoli slaw. Super healthy and low in fat! We've also substituted iceberg lettuce leaves for the buns to lower the calories. Messier but so yummy! Serve any extra slaw on the side. You can serve these over rice or on a bed of salad, too. We've also turned them into lettuce wraps to save more calories!
Bang Bang Blended Chicken Burger
Chicken burgers are notoriously dry, but not anymore! Adding minced roasted mushrooms to ground chicken not only adds extra moisture, it gives a deep umami flavor that even beef lovers will drool over. A little more time-intensive than a regular burger, this version is oozing with flavor and well worth the extra effort–crunchy, tangy, sweet, savory and juicy, all in one burger. The jalapeños aren't spicy because they are seeded, but if you want an extra kick, leave the seeds in. Save time by making the sauce, slaw and patties ahead of time.
Keto Chicken Fritters
These flavorful keto chicken fritters are slightly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The whole family will love this simple weeknight meal. They are great on their own, served atop a salad, or inside lettuce wraps topped with garlic aioli. Play around with the seasonings and cheese to suit your tastes!
Pulled BBQ Chicken Sliders
Sink your teeth into these Carolina-style Pulled BBQ Chicken Sliders with creamy coleslaw on a delicious sweet roll bun.
Guacamole Turkey Burger
Lean ground turkey and heart-healthy avocado come together to make eating right delicious. This recipe brings a little Southwestern flavor to the mix, with salsa in the guacamole and a seasoned burger mixture. If you'd like to add cheese, a cheddar-jack or pepper-jack would be perfect. Black bean-corn salad is a great side dish.
Turkey Reuben Burgers
I'm not a big fan of turkey burgers, but finding ground turkey on sale and some on-hand ingredients inspired this recipe. Most of the ingredients can be substituted or exchanged based on taste. Don't let the few ingredients in the burger itself fool you....it's got lots of flavor for a turkey burger. Feel free to add 8 oz. or more sliced mushrooms to the onions when cooking, if you happen to be a mushroom lover. This is great with sweet potato fries and/or a spinach salad. Serve with additional thousand island dressing for dipping.
