Turducken
Turducken is perfect for a Thanksgiving feast. It's a turkey stuffed with a duck, stuffed with a chicken stuffed with dressing. Get your butcher to debone the birds. You will need toothpicks and kitchen string for this recipe.
Dutch Oven Pulled Pork
A wonderful oven-roasted BBQ pulled pork in a Dutch oven that can be made with any pork roast. Low-and-slow roasting up above the juices is the key. Serve by itself or on buns. I like mine with coleslaw and a root beer-BBQ sauce on multigrain buns. Baked beans are a nice side dish, too.
Instant Pot® Pulled Pork
This pulled pork dish is a blend of a couple other recipes, made in the Instant Pot®. We had this on the Fourth of July, and it was a huge hit! Serve on warmed hamburger rolls, top with the thickened sauce, bread and butter pickles, or cole slaw as desired.
Gas Grill Turkey
This turkey cooked on a gas grill comes out juicy with a crispy brown skin.
Slow-Smoked Pulled Pork (Boston Butt)
This simple yet effective Boston butt recipe gives the pulled pork a mildly spicy and tangy flavor. The combination of smoke and moisture from the drip pan works very well for cooking the meat evenly and leaves plenty of juices within the meat itself. I've tried several different methods with Boston butt and this one is my favorite, as well as a favorite among my friends. Give it a try and see if you like it, and please don't be shy and leave some feedback! I usually serve with barbeque sauce and baked beans (throwing the fat chunks from the pulled pork into the beans to add a little extra flavor). Check out my Sweet and Spicy Cornbread Muffins recipe for a great side. Enjoy!
Swiss Hazelnut Taler
This is my family's favorite Christmas cookie. My mom used to make them at the beginning of Christmas season in Germany and she had to hide some so they would last until Christmas. I have tried the recipe now with American ingredients and finally got it to work.
Leftover Roast Chicken Soup
This leftover chicken soup recipe is a great way to get more meals from one chicken! A delicious but light broth with great country flavors. Serve in large bowls with fresh crusty rye bread. Any leftovers of this soup can be strained and used as chicken stock.
Chicken Tortilla Soup with Charred Corn and Fire-Roasted Tomatoes
This chicken tortilla soup, flavored with charred corn and fire-roasted tomatoes, warmed by green chilis and chipotle, is served with toasted tortilla strips and grated cotija cheese.
Leftover Roast Chicken Coconut Soup
This leftover roast chicken coconut soup begins with a flavorful broth made from the carcass of a rotisserie chicken and finishes with creamy coconut milk.
Roasted Garlic White Mac and Cheese
In this roasted garlic white mac and cheese, Manchego and white Cheddar create a flavor-packed sauce, while roasted garlic offers sweet and mellow notes, and crispy fried onions add a salty finishing crunch. For the best garlic flavor, look for plump, firm bulbs with intact papery skins. Avoid ones that feel lightweight or have green sprouts, which indicates they're past their prime.
Easy Roasted Vegetable Lasagna
I've made this easy roasted vegetable lasagna for years.
Traditional Gyro Meat
Delicious gyros made with homemade gyro meat. This is the closest I've come to emulating my favorite Mediterranean restaurant's recipe. The Greek/Lebanese-style meatloaf is sliced and served with pita bread, tzatziki, and tomatoes. The preparation time seems long, but most of it is resting time, so you can be doing other things!
