Double Crust Stuffed Pizza
This double-crust pizza recipe is my take on a Chicago-style pizza. Don't be afraid of adding sausage patty — it makes the pizza!
Flatbreads with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce
These flatbreads with roasted red pepper sauce feature a luscious bell pepper sauce, olives, and fontina cheese, and are the ideal summer dinner.
Perfect Pan Pizza
Perfect pan pizza baked in a cast iron skillet is achievable at home with this recipe. A homemade dough, an easy, no-cook sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella make this a classic.
Pretzel Crust Pizza
What makes pretzel dough different from regular pizza dough is the baking soda wash to create the signature "pretzel flavor" and a crunchy brown crust.
South Shore Bar Pizza
When I got a request for this recently, I did a search, and realized South Shore Bar Pizza was the same thing we grew up eating, except we called it cracker crust pizza–the style of pizza we got anytime we'd go to a bowling alley, a movie theater, or any kind of snack bar location. It's probably the easiest pizza to make, and I'm excited to share my take with you.
Tavern Pizza
Tavern pizza, the original Chicago-style pie, has a super thin, crispy crust with almost no rise. The toppings used here are a great combo of spicy and sweet — the pickled pepperoncini add a nice acidic balance to the pepperoni and cheese. Customize to your liking. Using a rolling pin to fully flatten the edges of the crust is different from how you would normally shape a pizza crust but this helps keep it thin. Add red chile flakes and Parmesan to finish.
World's Easiest Bread Machine Pizza Dough
Borrowed from a handful of other pizza dough recipes and tweaked to yield a tasty, thick crust using a bread machine. If you use a pizza stone, sprinkle it with cornmeal before placing the pizza on it to help keep it from sticking. Feel free to try different spices if you don't like any of the ones in this recipe.
Pizza Focaccia
Don't tell your friends from Chicago, but this is an easy take on deep-dish-style pizza. While it's far from authentic, it sure is delicious! By layering the cheese on first, you get lots of crispy, golden edges—which my family tends to fight over. Since this pizza is quite doughy, it's best to cut it into thin strips to serve. As for the sauce, less is more. I like to add small dollops all over the surface to ensure even distribution and maximum crispiness. If you're craving some spice, my favorite topping to hit this with as soon as it comes out of the oven is a hefty drizzle of hot honey.
Roman-Style Pizza
This Roman-style pizza has a long-fermented thicker crust, and is absolutely awesome. Topped with prepared sauce, sausage, sweet peppers, and three cheeses, or with whatever you like, you'll want to make this on repeat.
Gluten-Free Blueberry and Sweet Ricotta Crostata
Fresh, unsweetened blueberries and a sweet ricotta cream top a gluten-free shortbread crust for a delicious dessert or brunch treat. This shortbread recipe uses less sugar than traditional recipes as well as using dark brown sugar to give a deeper flavor.
Borscht with Meat
I like to simmer the beef and bacon for up to 6 hours, then let sit overnight in the broth to cool. Skim the excess fat and cut the meats into bite-size pieces. Re-heat, adding the beets, cabbage, onions, leeks, and sausage. I don't think that the carrots are necessary or add anything to the recipe. I've added several varieties of sausage to give added flavors but the milder Polish sausages seem to go better with the soft and sweet flavors of the beets. Serve with fresh bread.
Herb Buttermilk Biscuits
These herb biscuits are light and fluffy with melt-in-your-mouth goodness!
