American Gyros
Authentic Greek gyros are made with pork and chicken, but I prefer this version. It uses the same spices but is made with ground lamb and/or beef. Plus it's perfect for making ahead of time and heating it when you make your gyros. Don't forget to make tzatziki!
Traditional Gyros
Make a Greek gyro sandwich at home with this recipe that I absolutely love!
Easy Beef Shawarma
Delicious thin-cut beef strips (shawarma) with tahini sauce in a tortilla wrap.
Chicago-Inspired Italian Beef Sandwich
I tried to combine the traditional Italian beef sandwich with the French dip sandwich with a little nod to the pulled pork sandwich. Instead of using thinly sliced roast beef, I used stew beef, with apologies to my friends from Chicago.
Instant Pot Sloppy Joes
A combination of lean ground beef and apple cider vinegar makes this sloppy Joe recipe slightly sweet and slightly tart, made right there in your Instant Pot. Enjoy!
Emily's Famous Sloppy Joes
This is just a good old-fashioned Sloppy Joe recipe. Just slap some on a bun and enjoy!
Hodie's Sloppy Joes
This was my Grandma's recipe for Sloppy Joes. It is very easy to make and uses items you probably already have in your pantry. Kids, as well as the adults, will love this All-American favorite. A slice of American cheese adds a nice touch. For an extra kick, add your favorite hot sauce to taste.
The Original Donair From the East Coast of Canada
This homemade donair recipe is based on the legendary East Coast donair created in the city of Halifax by a Greek restaurateur in the early 70s. Originally made with ground lamb, it is now more commonly made with beef. Favorite garnishes are chopped onions and fresh diced tomatoes.
Donair
Donairs are a delicacy prevalent on the Canadian east coast, centered on the city of Halifax. These pita sandwiches are very delicious and simple to prepare. Make a double batch of the meatloaf and freeze the second loaf for later. The second loaf will be better โ you can slice the cold meatloaf thin and fry in a hot pan as you need them.
Bologna Salad Sandwich Spread
My friend's mom made this bologna salad spread for our Iowa Teen Club luncheon back in the 1950s. I used to make it for my kids when they were growing up, and they still love it! Sweet relish and eggs round out the flavor of bologna in this simple but delicious spread. Serve it on cocktail toast, or use it in sandwiches. The amount of egg, salad dressing, and relish can be adjusted to taste.
Ultimate Steak Sandwich
Make the ultimate steak sandwich with tender and juicy steak and sautรฉed onions served on a toasted hard roll with garlic-Parmesan mayonnaise, provolone cheese, and Italian seasoning. Don't forget to roll up your sleeves!
Classic Sloppy Joes
Fun and filling, Sloppy Joes are the perfect solution for a speedy supper before driving the kids to practice or rehearsal. Moist, meaty and satisfying these tasty sandwiches will appeal to the kid in all of us.
