Sopa de Lentejas (Andalucian Lentil Soup)
This is a great soup to have during cold winter months, although it's wonderful anytime of year! It's loaded with fresh veggies and has a hearty flavor anyone will enjoy! Add additional root veggies like carrots if you like.
Chef John's Pasta con le Sarde
This is my version of Sicily's wonderful pasta con le sarde. I'm no survivalist, but like any responsible chef, I like to have a few cans of sardines stocked away, just in case. If times ever get tough, I could survive for hours, maybe days on them.
Goat and Butternut Squash Stew
This is a tasty, spicy dish for a cold fall or winter evening and can be a good way to introduce goat to people who think they don't like goat. If you're not a fan of a long saute process, it can also be prepared in a slow cooker. Serve over rice.
Lamb-Mushroom Kabobs with Greek Yogurt Mopping Sauce
Unique mopping sauce to complement merguez dishes, especially traditional Greek-style kabobs. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Not a lamb fan? Then try this mopping sauce on chicken kabobs as it works great with both! This recipe was cooked rotisserie-style on the Kabob Buddie by Troops BBQ.
Kabab Barg
An authentic Iranian dish featuring boneless lamb in a marinade of garlic, lime, and saffron. Serve hot with plain rice (polow or chelow) or on Middle Eastern bread.
Flavorful Persian Braised Lamb Shanks
This Persian lamb shank is tender, juicy, and so flavorful. It is an authentic Persian recipe passed down from my father who was born in Tehran, Iran. It does take a lot of time to prepare but it's worth it. Serve with seasoned lentils, white rice, dill rice, or rice with lima beans. This is a dish to impress, perfect for the holidays!
Green Bean Curry
I ate this green bean curry with rice or coconut roti almost every evening in Sri Lanka, and I could not get enough of it! Using fresh ingredients is of the utmost importance. Some ingredients may be difficult to find, but they are essential. This goes very well with rice as a vegetarian entrΓ©e or alone as a side dish.
Sheila's Perfect Sangria
I've been looking for a good sangria recipe for some time. I checked out several recipes, combined the best of everything and came up with the perfect mix that would easily rival my favorite local lounge's sangria! Measurements are approximate and to taste but don't scrimp on any of the flavors. Add more juice or rum until it knocks your socks off....then it's your perfect sangria.
Sunset Sangria Recipe
This tropical sangria is great at any party or on a hot day! You may want to make a couple of batches β just in case!
Sangria by the Pros
I found a good sangria recipe and headed to the liquor store to purchase the brandy and red wine. In line ahead of me was a man who said he has been a bartender for 20 years now and that the recipe needed a few touch-ups if I wanted to make it like the professionals. So here is what he professed to me. Thanks to the other submitters for their delicious versions as well.
Peachy White Sangria
This boozy white sangria recipe with peaches and summer fruit makes a sweet, refreshing, crowd-pleasing cocktail. Even those that do not like wine like this white sangria!
Lamb Tagine
When I first made this Moroccan lamb tagine, I left the kitchen window open. The smell attracted several neighbors and my husband who came in and said that it smelled so good that he hoped it was coming from our house and not from someone else's! If you don't have a tagine, you can use a heavy-bottomed pot.
