This apple pie is filled with your own pre-cooked apple filling, covered with a vented top crust, and baked in the oven until golden brown.
Ingredients
- 10 medium apples - peeled , cored, and sliced
- 0.25 cups white sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 1 package pastry for double-crust pie , 14.1 ounce

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large pot over low heat. Mix well and cook, stirring frequently, until apples are tender but not mushy, 8 to 12 minutes.

Place one pie pastry in a 9-inch pie pan. Pour in apple mixture, then cover with remaining pastry. Seal the edges and cut several steam vents in the top.

Bake in the preheated oven until crust is golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes.
