My oma used to make this butter soup when they first came to Canada and had no money. It has been passed down to me, and it's a favorite of everyone I've made it for!

- 8 cups water
- 6 potatoes , cubed

- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 bay leaf

- salt to taste
- ground black pepper to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs

Slice onion into quarters and separate layers. Add 8 cups water, potato, onion, butter, bay leaf, parsley, salt, and pepper into a large soup pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat; reduce heat to low and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.

Chocolate Ricotta Mousse
This four-ingredient chocolate ricotta mousse recipe is very rich and oh-so easy to make! You can optionally top it with whipped cream.
Cheesecake Egg Rolls
These cheesecake egg rolls are a great dessert and so simple to make. I like to serve them with crushed berries mixed with sugar and whipped cream.
Busy Day Chicken Rice Casserole
This is my family's favorite one dish meal - mine too, since it is so easy to put together! I use skinless, boneless chicken breasts but mixed chicken pieces can be used, too. I also use the low fat, low sodium canned soups and the taste is still great!
