I made this caprese garlic bread because just about everybody loves crusty garlic bread. And when you add tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic, it kicks up the flavor to sensational. French, Italian and ciabatta are all good bread choices.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread , 12 ounce
- olive oil spray
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 5 cloves garlic
- 12 ounces mozzarella cheese
- 4 small tomatoes
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 0.33 cups chopped fresh basil
- balsamic glaze
Instructions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut bread in half lengthwise, lightly spray with olive oil, and place on the baking sheet, cut side up.
-
2
In a small bowl, combine butter and garlic; spread evenly on the bread halves, and top with mozzarella slices.
-
3
Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted, and bread edges are starting to brown, 8 to 11 minutes.
-
4
Remove from the oven, place tomato slices on top of the cheese, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with basil. Drizzle with balsamic glaze, cut into slices, and serve.

Apple, Raisin, and Carrot Slaw
This easy slaw with apples, raisins, and carrots is the perfect side for any meat or fish dish.
Celery Stuffing
A great recipe for stuffing a turkey. It is very moist! A pinch of marjoram can be added to this dish in addition to or in place of thyme. Try putting the stuffing under the skin of the breast. It makes the turkey very moist!
Raspberry Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing
This raspberry balsamic dressing tastes fantastic on a salad with fruit (apples are my favorite) or even as a bread dip! I was tired of trying bottle after bottle of dressing and not finding anything close to my favorite restaurant-inspired salad until I made this recipe.
