Jemput jemput banana fritters are traditional Indonesian fritters. They're delicious!
Ingredients
- oil for frying
- 10 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 6 ripes bananas
- 3 tablespoons white sugar

Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Sift flour, salt, and baking powder into a medium bowl.

In a separate bowl, mash together bananas and sugar. Gradually mix flour mixture into mashed bananas, stirring until well combined.

Working in batches if necessary, drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil and cook, turning once, until browned, 2 to 8 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Taylor's Piroshki
These pirozhki have a beef, onion, and dill filling and are delicious. You could also add a little cheese to the filling if you like. They can also be baked. I received this recipe from my Russian language teacher in high school and have been making them ever since. The kids like them too!
