This oven-fried potatoes recipe is the perfect side for steak. These crispy potatoes roasted with butter, onion, and bacon hit the spot. Splurge and use all the butter. It doesn't get much better than this!
Ingredients
- 0.5 cups unsalted butter , diced, more for the dish
- 5 pounds red potatoes , thinly sliced
- 1 onion , finely chopped
- 6 stripss bacon , chopped
- salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.

Place potatoes in an even layer in the prepared dish. Sprinkle onion and bacon over potatoes; dot with diced butter. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove foil; stir potatoes. Turn on the broiler and broil until until potatoes are brown and crisp, about 5 minutes. You may need to stir every minute or so for even browning. Serve immediately.
