These classic pecan crescent cookies are tender and sweet and deserve a place on your holiday cookie tray.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract or to taste
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cups confectioners' sugar

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (170 degrees C).

  2. 2

Beat butter in large bowl with an electric mixer, gradually adding confectioners' sugar and salt until light and fluffy.

  3. 3

Stir in pecans and vanilla. Add flour gradually; mix well. Shape dough into crescents using a teaspoon full for each crescent. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden brown, about 15 to 30 minutes. Let cookies cool slightly, then roll in additional confectioners' sugar.
