Here's an old sausage and sauerkraut recipe I've used for years that pairs sausage brats and briny sauerkraut in the slow cooker — yum!
Ingredients
- 1 can sauerkraut , 20 ounce
- 0.25 cups brown sugar
- 1.5 pounds bratwurst sausages
- 1 medium onion , sliced
- 0.5 cups water , Optional
Instructions
-
1
Mix sauerkraut and brown sugar together in a medium bowl.
-
2
Pour sauerkraut mixture into a slow cooker; arrange sausages and onion over top. Cook on High for 2 hours. Check for dryness, adding water as necessary.
-
3
Reduce the heat to Low and cook for 2 more hours.

Gluten-Free Beer Bread
I've made this gluten-free beer bread several times, and it hasn't failed me yet. It's a great sandwich bread for anyone who wants to eat gluten free. I have a problem keeping it in the kitchen to make sandwiches with!
