Fresh homemade hot breakfast sausage patties that you can enjoy right away, make ahead of time for weekday breakfasts, or freeze for later use. If you don't like spicy sausage, feel free to adjust the heat by reducing the amount of crushed red pepper or eliminating it altogether.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 teaspoon rubbed sage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 0.5 teaspoons ground marjoram
- 0.5 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoons onion powder
- 0.25 teaspoons dried thyme leaves
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
-
1
Combine ground pork, sage, salt, crushed red pepper, marjoram, black pepper, onion powder, and thyme leaves in a large bowl; mix until evenly combined. Form mixture into 10 small patties.

2
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Working in batches, cook patties for 3 minutes. Flip and cook 3 minutes more or until juices run clear. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (73 degrees C). Transfer patties to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess grease.

Chicken Parmesan Meatballs
Make ground chicken meatballs and coat them in seasoned Panko crumbs for a beautifully browned color. Use jarred sauce from the grocery store for a shortcut in this cheesy, satisfying dish! We like it with "zoodles," but fettuccine or spaghetti would be delicious! Garlic bread and a green salad are all you need to complete this meal.

Chicken Shepherd's Pie
This a fabulous one-pan meal. Serve with a salad and French bread. Just use left over fried, baked, or grilled chicken. You may substitute your family's favorite vegetable in place of corn. Potatoes and roasted garlic can be done 1 to 2 days ahead. If preference is to use dried spices, then use 1/2 teaspoon each of thyme and rosemary. Use any cheese of your choice.
