Spicy chorizo-style sausage and lean ground turkey combine for a flavorful, satisfying burger recipe that won't leave you feeling heavy. For an extra-smoky touch, try grilling it outdoors. It pairs perfectly with a Michelada or frozen margarita!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 4 linkss Mexican chorizo sausage , casings removed
  • 4 cloves garlic , minced
  • 0.25 teaspoons onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoons chipotle chile flakes
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons buttery spread
  • 4 slices pepper Jack cheese
  • 4 hamburgers buns
  • 0.25 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 cups spring mix lettuce
  • 1 lime , juiced

Instructions

  1. 1

Combine ground turkey, chorizo, garlic, onion powder, chipotle flakes, and black pepper in a large bowl; mix with your hands until well blended. Shape into 4 loosely packed patties.

  2. 2

  3. 3

Top each patty with 1 slice pepper Jack cheese; cook until cheese melted, about 1 minute more.

  4. 4
