Beef and Potato Pie
In this recipe, beef, potatoes, and vegetables are baked into a delicious pie. It's great for dinner and excellent warmed up the next day as well. You can substitute other vegetables like celery, peas, etc. You can also substitute two pounds of ground beef for sirloin.
Great Grandma Johns' Pasties
This recipe originated in Cornwall England, and was adapted by my Great Grandmother Johns. It was originally made for the coal miners and wrapped in butcher paper. The hard pastry shell would keep the juicy contents fresh until the miners were ready to eat. My Grandma would serve with relishes and Coca Cola. If you want to make these more quickly, you can use refrigerated pie crusts instead of the pastry recipe.
Classic Shepherd's Pie
This traditional shepherd's pie recipe starts by making a savory base of ground beef and vegetables in flavorful tomato sauce. It's topped with a layer of buttery mashed potatoes to make the perfect comfort food for your hungry family.
Meat Pie
This meat pie is delicious! I got it from my husband's mother. She is French so I believe this is a French meat pie recipe. Beef, pork, and potato are all nicely spiced and baked together. It's yummy and pretty easy to make too! It's best served fresh, but you can also make it ahead and freeze or refrigerate it. Serve the pie by itself or with a beef gravy.
