Cathead Biscuits
This is the old-time recipe from our grandmamas. There is no real measurement in this for the shortening. Wonderful and tasty heavy biscuit from the old times. Great with homemade sausage gravy. Always always always use White Lilyยฎ flour for the fluffiest biscuits. I usually don't always use all of the buttermilk. I seem to usually have just under a 1/4 cup leftover.
3 Ingredient Sausage Biscuits
This 3 ingredient sausage biscuit recipe is extremely versatile and can be made sweet or savory by adding either jelly, eggs, or cheese.
Country Ham and Biscuits
Dolly Parton and Rachel Parton George's famous biscuit recipe is the perfect addition to any party. Just don't skimp on the bacon grease!
Beef Stroganoff with Noodles
This beef stroganoff recipe with stew meat is a family favorite. The sauce is very rich and creamy and is great served over egg noodles. It does take a little longer to make, but it is well worth it!
Red Wine-Marinated Beef Stew
A twist on traditional beef stew--stew meat that is so tender even the most finicky eaters will love! (i.e. kids that don't like meat that is tough to chew...like mine.) The "secret" is the acid from the red wine. It helps to break down the collagen, naturally tenderizing the meat and releasing great flavor! The longer you can marinate the better but a minimum of 3 hours is essential. Enjoy with a good crusty bread and a glass of red!
Slow Cooker Beef Neck Bones and Gravy
Beef neck bones are a Southern staple recipe. I couldn't find a recipe online, so I created this one on my own by pulling from some of my favorite oxtail, roast, and pork neck bone recipes. Turned out yummy so I thought I'd share. Serve over steamed rice and peas or mashed potatoes.
Green Chile Stew
A great green chile stew with Mexican flavors! I enjoy making it with beef, but you can use pork shoulder if you prefer. Everyone loves this, even my children!
Texas Cowboy Stew
This easy cowboy stew recipe is hearty and filling with kielbasa sausage, cumin, chiles, and chili powder for some Southwest appeal. It's quick and easy to make on the stovetop but tastes best when simmered all day in a crockpot. Serve with cornbread and a simple green salad.
Brunswick Stew
This is the best Brunswick stew! An old family recipe that's brimming with pork, beef, and chicken, it may be the best stew you've ever had. If you've had Brunswick stew before, you won't believe how good this version tastes. And if you've never had it, you'll love it.
Instant Pot Cabbage Roll Soup
Grandma's cabbage rolls turned into an easy-to-make soup with less fuss.
Bacon Cheeseburger Soup
This bacon cheeseburger soup is loaded with vegetables, crispy thick-cut bacon, browned beef, and Cheddar for a rich, creamy, and hearty soup that has a delicious combination of flavors and textures. Serve this with some crusty bread for sopping up all that goodness!
Habanero Hellfire Chili
A tasty habanero hellfire chili recipe whose name says it all! Note: Whole Anaheim peppers are not widely available; this ingredient is optional, and you can use hot pepper sauce instead.
