This baked penne pasta recipe makes a hearty, filling meal that's full of flavor!
Caldo Gallego (Galecian Broth)
Warm, hearty caldo gallego is one of my family's favorite meals during the long winter months in Alaska. We like to serve it with chewy Cuban bread.
World's Best Pasta Sauce!
This pasta sauce is excellent in lasagna or as a meat sauce. I use it in my popular lasagna recipe, so I thought I'd share it on its own.
TikTok Candied Kielbasa Bites
Inspired by @vics_tricks_to on TikTok, we're sharing the tastiest new take on classic kielbasa. Double-baked in a brown sugar and mustard glaze, these sweet and smoky sausage bites are a crowd-pleasing new take on little smokies.
Smoked Sausage with Spaghetti Squash
Microwaving the spaghetti squash ensures hands-off steaming while you cook the rest of tonight's dinner in a single skillet. If your microwave-safe dish can only hold one squash half at a time, steam it in two batches.
Sausage and Cabbage Stuffed Acorn Squash
This sausage and cabbage stuffed acorn squash is a hearty winter recipe that hits home on a cold day. Use green or red cabbage—either is fantastic!
Toad in the Hole
You know that something with a name like this is going to be good and this truly is! The traditional recipe itself is very simple but the method for making it is not, so I developed this "cold oven cheater method" which is much safer and easier. The end result is an amazing flavor and texture combination of juicy sausages, crispy, puffed, and tender Yorkshire pudding, and delicious onion gravy. And the gravy is so good you'll want to eat it on just about anything (and everything!)
Grilled Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions
Grilled Italian sausage with bell peppers and onions makes a colorful summer dinner. Use hot, sweet, or mild Italian sausage — whatever you prefer!
Pork, Sauerkraut and Dumplings
Pork roast and kraut slow-cooked and served with dumplings and sauerkraut 'gravy.' This recipe was from my mother's very German family. She always served it with mashed potatoes, creamed peas, and applesauce. Sometimes she baked the roast and kraut separately. We always have this on New Year's Day. I usually double the recipe for the dumplings. My mother didn't make hers with beer, but I have added this over the years to taste.
Wine and Garlic Pork (Portuguese Vina Dosh)
Ahh, "vina dosh," this Portuguese wine and garlic pork recipe is my family's tradition to make during Christmas. The recipe started getting passed down more than 80 years ago when my grandparents came to America from the Azore Islands! And now, I'm sharing the recipe that was passed down to me with you. It's easy to make but requires a lot of patience to wait for the marinade to do its magic. But, oh so worth the wait! Serve it with Portuguese linguiça, a pot of semi-sweet, bacon-laced baked beans, and some Portuguese sweet bread. Hawaiian sweet bread works in a pinch. You can use white wine or red wine in the marinade.
Slow Cooker Apple Cider Braised Pork
This braised pork shoulder recipe combines pork shoulder with apple cider in a slow cooker, where it is cooked for several hours until tender. Reduce the cooking liquid to create a thick and flavorful sauce you can pour over the sliced pork.
Slow Cooker Pulled Pork with Orange Juice
'Discovered' this by accident when starting the pork butt about 10 p.m. one night (the butt was still partially frozen). Started with the basics, but decided to add the stone ground mustard and the orange juice on a whim. Husband loves it, so I must have been inspired.
