I devised this apple crisp with cranberry sauce recipe when I was trying to use up that leftover homemade cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving! You could probably also use canned whole cranberry sauce for this recipe.
Ingredients
- 4 Grannys Smith apples , peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1.5 cups whole berry cranberry sauce
- 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 0.67 cups packed brown sugar
- 0.5 cups butter , melted
- 0.67 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
-
2
Place apple slices in an 8- or 9-inch square baking dish; spread cranberry sauce over top. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon in a bowl until crumbly; sprinkle over apple-cranberry mixture until completely covered.
-
3
Bake in the preheated oven until apples are easily pierced with a knife and topping is browned, about 45 minutes.
