Rich cheese dough surrounds a savory olive in these hot cheese olives that make a great pick-up appetizer or snack. You can freeze the unbaked, dough-wrapped olives and bake them right out of the freezer, extending the baking time by a few minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter , softened
  • 0.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.13 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 24 pimento-stuffed green olives

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

  2. 2

Combine Cheddar cheese and butter in a mixing bowl. Stir flour and cayenne pepper into cheese mixture; blend well.

  3. 3

Wrap 1 tablespoon dough around each green olive. Arrange wrapped olives on a cookie sheet.

  4. 4

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
