These granola bars make a delicious energy snack! You can make them your own by picking different ingredients to add. Try using any combination of chocolate chips, sunflower seeds, raisins, chopped dried fruits, chopped nuts, etc.
Ingredients
- 4.5 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.67 cups butter , softened
- 0.5 cups honey
- 0.33 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups miniature semisweet chocolate chips

Gather all ingredients. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Line 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper or foil.

Combine oats, flour, butter, honey, brown sugar, baking soda, and vanilla in a large bowl.

Stir in chocolate chips until well combined.

Lightly press oat mixture into the prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 18 to 22 minutes.

Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then cut into bars. Cool completely in the pan before removing or serving bars.

I grew up eating Shoney's hamburger soup with cabbage in Kansas City with my parents. They had an all-you-can-eat soup and salad bar, and it was the highlight of my week. Even as a kid, I've always loved soup. Then we moved out of state. Even though it has been nearly 40 years since I last had it, I never forgot about their cabbage soup with hamburger.
