Cheesy Potato Pancakes
Delicious and cheesy, these potato pancakes are a huge hit with my three boys! They're great as a side dish or for snacking! These travel well wrapped in foil for the lunch box. They can be served plain or with ranch dressing as a dip.
Chicken in a Waffle
Baked chicken nuggets are coated in savory waffle batter and cooked until crisp and golden in a waffle iron. Dip in barbeque sauce or maple syrup and gobble them up!
Cheesy Kale Quiche
Created when I had used all of my spinach for spinach dip, this creamy, simple quiche is great for family breakfasts!
Mini Quiches (Crustless)
A great easy cook ahead dish. I like to make these for my boys to eat for breakfast on the go. Good reheated in the microwave. They freeze wonderfully. I often make these with bratwurst sausage and a teaspoon of leftover Knorr® vegetable-spinach dip. Add mushrooms or olives if you like. You can get creative with ingredients.
Crispy (No-Fry) Potato Pancake Poppers
These "potato fries" might only be half as tall as Tater Tots, but personally I think they're twice as good! With just a handful of ingredients and no messy stovetop frying, get ready to enjoy these crispy, caramelized potato pancake poppers. Pipe sour cream on top and sprinkle with chives to serve, or arrange on a platter and serve alongside an amazing dip, like a garlicky pesto aioli. They also make for truly fantastic breakfast potatoes to serve with bacon and eggs.
Oeufs Cocotte (Baked Eggs)
Oeufs cocotte are French baked eggs cooked in cream with ham and cheese. You can make them in individual ramekins or a casserole dish, then bake in a water bath in the oven. Simply delicious served hot with toast or strips of bread to dip in the runny egg yolks.
Dry-Brined Smoked Salmon
A perfect dry-brined smoked salmon recipe. We've been playing with smoked salmon recipes for years and this quick dry-brine process is easy and delicious. A go-to appetizer in our house any time there's a party. Try serving it with plain bagels and cream cheese.
Chef John's French Toast
So you think you know how to make French toast? Maybe you beat a couple eggs, a splash of milk, a quick dip, fry it up in some butter, and drizzle with a little syrup? Sounds pretty good, and for 95% of the world that is what they consider French toast. But if you want truly amazing French toast, give this classic restaurant method a try.
Sourdough Crêpes
This crêpe recipe makes great use of sourdough starter.
Sourdough Discard Waffles
I often feel like the discard from my sourdough starter is wasteful, so I try my best to use it in other ways. One of the best and tastiest ways is to repurpose the discard into waffles. You can make the batter base of this recipe the night before you plan to cook waffles, or just a few hours prior. This is a fantastic weekend breakfast when everyone gets to sleep in!
Zucchini Waffles (Green Waffles)
A gluten-free waffle using zucchini and dry potato flakes--think green eggs and ham. Serve with sour cream, tart jam, onion chip dip, or applesauce. They can be breakfast, brunch, lunch, or a side dish. Easier than standing at the stove and frying zucchini pancakes. I like them with my homemade rhubarb jam.
Healthier Amish Friendship Bread Starter
Make something extra special to share with a friend! This delicious starter is healthier than the original version and can be used to make a variety of healthful breads. (Do not use metal containers or utensils.)
