Trader Vic Mai Tai Cocktail
This Trader Vic mai tai cocktail recipe is named after the inventor of the mai tai cocktail, which was a California restaurateur known as Trader Vic. He served the rum and juice cocktail to friends visiting from Tahiti, who exclaimed, "maita'i roa ae!" The term translates to "very good," and the name "mai tai" stuck.
Absolute Stress
With a mixture of rum and vodka, one is enough to relieve most stress levels! Garnish with a slice of orange and a cherry.
Dave Matthews
This drink originated in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. There are several different variations. I added the lime juice myself for the extra zing. Very fruity to cover the taste of alcohol. The primary flavours are coconut and pineapple. Garnish with a cherry, some orange peel, or a lime wedge.
The Perfect Mai Tai
This is the best Mai Tai recipe! It's been tried and tested for over 12 years now and is always a crowd favorite. It's the perfect spring or summer drink. Don't use granadine if you want a true Mai Tai! Use a 1-gallon sun tea jar for serving, and pour over ice in 8- to 12-ounce glasses.
Flaming Doctor Pepper
A Flaming Dr. Pepper is made by lighting a shot of rum and amaretto liqueur on fire before dropping it carefully into a glass of beer. It tastes just like Dr. Pepper itself, but be careful because the Bacardi 151 rum stands for 151 proof โ โ that is why it is able to catch on fire!
Dark 'n' Stormy Cocktail
Popular within the sailing community, the dark 'n' stormy cocktail is also the national drink of Bermuda. The simple mixture of dark rum and ginger beer makes for a great cocktail in any weather.
Mai Tai Cocktail
This variation on the classic mai tai combines three kinds of rum with orgeat, orange liqueur, and lime juice for a taste of the Pacific islands!
Fog Cutter
This tropical tiki drink will clear the fog!
Monkey Gland Cocktail
Not the most appetizing of names, but a refreshing gin cocktail just the same. Swap out the Pernod with a dash of Benedictine if the mood strikes.
Diplomat Cocktail
This popular summery cocktail from the Vig Bar in New York City has a delightfully fresh flavor, thanks to plenty of fresh cucumber, a little lime juice, and some elderflower liqueur.
Gene's Long Island Iced Tea
Be careful with this one. For the un-initiated, this drink tastes great and will creep up on you before you know it.
Gin Daisy
This is a great, refreshing classic.
