Campfire Pepperoni Pizza

This campfire pepperoni pizza recipe is as easy as pie โ€” no pun intended. The smoky flavor from the wood fire puts a great tweak on an old favorite, and with the help of a pizza stone, doing this over an open fire is easier than you may think.

Chicken-Fried Venison Steaks

I made this chicken-fried venison with stuff I had in the cupboard and fresh venison. My husband and children loved it. Serve with mashed potatoes and gravy โ€” I used brown gravy, but country gravy can be used for a milder taste.

This canned corn salad comes together in a snap. It is so tasty as a replacement for other salads at picnics, pitch-ins, and barbecues. No mayo to spoil and easily doubled.

Barbarian Beef

If you've ever wanted to channel your inner barbarian and cook a large hunk of meat right on the coals, no grill, then this the recipe for you. The flavor of this beef lands somewhere between grilled and smoked, and I've got a great garlicky, acidic pepper sauce to go with it. Try this recipe with a more expensive cut of meat plus any sauce of choice, from chimichurri to barbeque. You can't go wrong!

Fried Bass

I made this while camping. It was a break at camp when nobody was there, so I picked up some worms at the trading post and went off to fish down at the lake. I caught 12 bass with the help of my dad, who came down there after he played guitar at the trading post. It was 7:00 when I brought them all back to camp and thought to eat them since everyone already ate dinner while I was gone. So I fried them up in some crushed chips leftover from lunch. Yum, yum, yum.

Homestead Cowboy Beans

These cowboy beans are a family favorite! I have an enormous family, and all the men go trail riding several times a year โ€” these hearty cowboy beans made with baked beans, Great Northern beans, pork and beans, and pinto beans are what they look forward to the most!

Easy Granola Bars

Fantastic bars that have a lot of flexibility. You can adapt the recipe to your liking. Great for hikes, long road trips and camping as they store well and keep fairly long - unless you eat them all! Use any combination of chocolate chips, dried fruit, coconut, pecans, almond slices, or any other tidbits you'd like in a granola bar.

Caramelized Onions on the Grill

These caramelized onions on the grill are absolutely melt in your mouth delicious! You can make them on the grill or in the oven. Even friends of ours that don't care for onions loved these! I would recommend that you use 1 large onion for every 2 people. Some people want one whole onion to themselves so you might want to make some extra! They are also good heated up the next day but we rarely have any extra!
