Instant Pot Black-Eyed Peas
These Instant Pot black-eyed peas with lots of bacon don't require an overnight soak before cooking. Using the pressure function on the Instant pot will ensure fast prep for a dish commonly served on New Year's Day. Sounds like good luck for the New Year!
Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats
Steel cut oats are incredibly easy to make in the Instant Pot. Using the sautรฉ function to toast the oats in olive oil before adding liquid for pressure cooking adds a nice toasty flavor. This recipe is for traditional steel cut oats, not quick cooking-cook ones. Once cooked and cooled, put oats in an airtight container and refrigerate. In the morning, take about a half cup and add 1/4 cup water or milk, then steam for 15 minutes with your Instant Pot's steam function. Stir well and enjoy oats every morning during the week!
Instant Pot Carnitas
Instant Pot carnitas are easy to make with pork shoulder, orange juice, and spices. You just need a little patience for the pressure to release naturally, but you'll be rewarded with fall-apart tender pork. Perfect for tacos, nachos, burritos, and more!
Indian Potatoes and Cauliflower (Aloo Gobi)
A daily household dish in India, made in every house and cherished by each and every person. This authentic dish is made with tomatoes and onions flavored with the aromas of the Indian spices. This is cherished with phulka (roti, Indian wheat bread). There are various versions of aloo gobi, this is my take on it. Please do try this recipe and comment. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with a lemon wedge. Serve with hot phulka or chapati or rice and curds.
Spiced Chickpeas (Chole)
Serve nice and hot with rice or naan. This is one of my favorite Indian dishes.
Crispy Indian Okra
This great okra side dish with Indian spices can also be served as a snack or appetizer.
Spicy Indian Lentil Stew (Daal)
This is an easy and rewarding recipe for a spicy and flavorful Indian dish of lentil stew! Serve on its own or with basmati rice.
Indian Kale and Moong Dal
Indian kale and moong dal for veggie lovers.
Spicy Quinoa and Spinach Pulao (Pilaf)
This spicy quinoa pulao with Indian flavors is made with quinoa rather than rice for added protein!
Yogurt Rice
This cooling Indian dish is perfect as an accompaniment to grilled meats. Curry leaves can be found at your local Indian store. If you can't find them, they can be omitted, but they do add a unique flavor and smell.
Indian Rice (Pulao)
When I grew up as a child in India, I always enjoyed this wonderful festive rice which was served at weddings or other special occasions. Also good with Indian curry.
Chole Saag
This tastes exactly like the dish that I always get at my favorite Indian restaurant. I made it up one day and everyone was shocked. It has quite the mix of ingredients, but they all play a key role in getting the taste and consistency that I was looking for.
