Crunchy Granola Breakfast Cereal
I'm a huge fan of crunchy granola breakfast cereals, but I wanted to make my own so I could change it up now and again. Makes a great addition to yogurt or topping for ice cream.
Daniel Fast Granola
Enjoy this homemade Daniel Fast granola recipe. You can eat it as a snack or as cereal.
AIP Breakfast Tapioca Porridge (Grain Free and Paleo)
Whether you are following an AIP diet, you're intolerant to grains, or you simply want to switch up the taste of your breakfast porridge with a great and creamy texture, this healthy grain-free recipe is perfect for you! This vanilla-maca tapioca porridge with rhubarb and raspberry sauce is one of my favorite grain-free alternatives. As you probably saw on my Facebook and Instagram, I often make it. What I love about this recipe is that it's suitable for anybody as I worked very hard to make it compliant to basically every allergy in the world.
Chef John's Chocolate Energy Bars
If you compare these chocolate energy bars to similar fruit and nut bars sold at the store, I think they taste better, are nutritionally superior, and are probably cheaper to make at home. The only problem is they look so good it takes your brain a millisecond to process that they're not going to taste like the fudge brownies they resemble. Store bars in the refrigerator in a resealable bag.
Fereni Starch Pudding
This delightful Fereni starch-thickened pudding with almonds can be enjoyed hot or cold during Ramadan, particularly at sahur or iftar. Adjust both the sugar and rosewater to taste.
Indian-Style Seekh Kebab
These lamb seekh kebabs are a spicy and extremely flavorful recipe that will surely be a hit at any outdoor party.
Ancient Honey Cakes (Rice Flour Cookies with Nuts or Poppy Seeds)
In ancient temples, they offered honey cakes to the goddess. I imagine that they were something like this. I adapted the rice flour for modern tastes, although you can try barley flour if desired. These cakes are gluten and sugar free.
Paleo Almond Date Cookies
High-protein, organic cookies for the paleo connoisseur.
Vegan Tahini Dressing
A vegan tahini dressing with just 3 ingredients, which you can use almost anywhere! It's delicious as a salad dressing on a simple green salad, or use it in a falafel wrap, or drizzled over roasted vegetables like cauliflower or carrots.
Tasteful Tahini Salad Dressing
This tasteful tahini salad dressing is full of Middle Eastern flavors; lemon, garlic, red wine vinegar, and ginger give it a kick! It's easy to make in a blender and very versatile โ add a bit less tamari, more lemon juice, and a pinch of ground mint if you prefer. People always ask me for this salad dressing recipe.
Berbere (Ethiopian Spice)
For those of you who have difficulty locating berbere (Ethiopian spice) in your local grocery store, this recipe is a good substitute that is easy to make. Note that it is quite spicy, so use it to taste. This spice combination is used in many Ethiopian dishes including doro wat, an Ethiopian chicken dish.
The Famous Seafood Seasoning Recipe
This seafood seasoning recipe really wasn't that hard to crack. The ingredients are printed on the container! The only difficult part was working out the correct ratios for each spice or herb, but patience, perseverance, and good ol' trial and error saved the day. The original Old Bay Seasoning was invented in the 1940s by an American-German immigrant named Gustav Brunn. Initially, it was intended only for use on crab meat (as there was plenty of it in the Chesapeake Bay area where Gustav lived), but in the last decade or so, it's been used in other food areas, such as poultry and salads.
