Excellent and Healthy Cornbread
This healthy cornbread recipe contains no oil and tastes very, very good. Serve warm with honey, butter, or margarine.
Sufganiyot
Sufganiyot are deep-fried pillowy donuts enjoyed during the festival of Hanukkah. This is a traditional Jewish recipe. Fill with your favorite jam or jelly and dust with confectioners' sugar.
Streusel-Topped Blueberry Muffins
The streusel topping for these muffins takes them over the top. I'm a muffin snob, and I find myself making this same recipe over and over! You'll never want to make a boxed blueberry muffin again. They're really moist if you don't overwork the batter. They freeze really well and can be reheated in the microwave.
Potica
Potica (po-TEET-zah) is a wonderful bread from Slovenia with a sweet, nutty filling. Due to the spelling and pronunciation, it's very hard to find the recipe.
Lemon Blueberry Bread
This lemon blueberry bread is a family favorite. I like to drizzle a sweet and tangy glaze on top for a special treat!
Danish Pastry
This Danish pastry is a sinful delight made with rich, buttery, flaky dough. It's worth the effort and extra work involved. Make sure the dough is well-chilled before rolling, folding, and shaping.
Strawberry Lemon Cheesecake Rolls
"Super fluffy and bright—great for the summer!"
Cannoli
I love cannoli and this recipe was invented after I spent a lot of time looking for the best homemade cannoli shells and filling. Since no two recipes were alike, and since instructions were a bit sketchy, I worked with a friend, Ana, to come up with a good recipe, including some tips that we came up with along the way. Special equipment is needed such as cannoli tubes, a pasta machine, and a pastry bag to help make these cannoli come out just like the ones at Italian restaurants and bakeries. Start with 1/2 cup of confectioners' sugar, and then add more to taste.
Homemade Hamburger Buns
These soft hamburger buns are perfect for burgers, pulled pork, or your favorite sandwich filling. I've gotten a thousand requests for these! Not only are these the perfect shape, but they taste way better than anything that comes out of a plastic bag. The total time takes almost 4 hours, but the actual amount of work involved is maybe 10 minutes.
Ezekiel Bread
This Ezekiel bread is the bread that Ezekiel lived off of while he was in the desert for two years. It is supposed to be nutritionally complete. The recipe calls for grinding your own flour from a variety of grains and dried beans.
Easy Homemade Pizza Dough
This is a great recipe when you don't want to wait for the dough to rise. You just mix it and allow it to rest for 5 minutes and then it's ready to go! It yields a soft, chewy crust.
Feta and Sardine Flatbread
This feta and sardine flatbread is fresh, affordable, and Mediterranean-inspired. Using canned sardines, it's on your table in under 30 minutes, and the recipe is easily adapted to suit your tastes. For example, if you don't like olives, use capers. If you don't like feta, use mozzarella.
