Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf
I always found turkey meatloaf recipes to be quite disappointing as the flavor is usually lacking as well as the texture. So I developed this recipe that has a great texture and a surprisingly good flavor — my brother couldn't even tell that it wasn't beef! The secret is the quinoa, which adds wonderful texture and is much nuttier than breadcrumbs.
Beer Floats
Depending on whom you talk to, making ice cream floats with beer is either a genius idea or a horrible mistake. The key is to choose a beer on the toasty, malty, sweeter side and stay away from beers that are too hoppy, dry, and bitter. Here I offer two recipe versions: coffee ice cream with stout and vanilla ice cream (the safest option) with a Belgian raspberry sour (or any fruity beer). I'd make a small test glass first to ensure it works for your palate.
Bill's Famous Piña Colada
This piña colada is made with three types of rum: dark, amber, and light. It's like a dream in a glass: 25% dessert, 75% tropical vacation, and 100% an adult beverage. You can hear the Pacific Ocean from Omaha, Nebraska if you have one of these in your hand. Enjoy!
Bill's Famous Mai Tai
It's a Hawaiian vacation in a glass. You can't help but feel on vacation as you sip this tropical rum-based concoction. Be careful-this drink has a kick! You can substitute Triple Sec for the orange Curacao if you must.
Flaming Doctor Pepper
A Flaming Dr. Pepper is made by lighting a shot of rum and amaretto liqueur on fire before dropping it carefully into a glass of beer. It tastes just like Dr. Pepper itself, but be careful because the Bacardi 151 rum stands for 151 proof — that is why it is able to catch on fire!
